Why Does Workyard Require Location Tracking to Be Set to ‘Always On’?

For the Workyard app to function optimally, it requires location services to be set to ‘always on’. This setting allows the app to access location data without interruptions, ensuring seamless clock-in and clock-out processes and precise tracking during work hours.

When Does Workyard Track Your Location?

Although location services need to be set to ‘always on’, Workyard only tracks an employee’s location when they are clocked in. This means:

  • Clocked In: Your location is monitored to verify job site presence and provide accurate time logs.

  • Clocked Out: Location tracking stops, and the app no longer collects your location data.

Employee Privacy Matters

We understand that privacy is important. Workyard’s system is designed to ensure that your location data is only recorded during active work periods. This approach respects employee boundaries while still allowing employers to manage their projects effectively.
