If you need to disconnect your ADP integration — whether using ADP Workforce Now (WFN) or ADP RUN — you’ll need to complete the disconnection from both Workyard and ADP. Because ADP manages app connections differently than most integrations, removing it only from Workyard does not fully disconnect it. You must also remove the app from your ADP account.
Why You Might Need to Disconnect
You may need to disconnect your ADP integration if:
You’re reconnecting with a different ADP admin account.
You’re troubleshooting sync issues or connection errors.
You need to clear out outdated or duplicate ADP connections.
Step 1: Disconnect ADP from Workyard
Log in to Workyard as an Admin.
Go to the Integrations page on the left hand side
Under Connected Systems, locate ADP (it will appear as either ADP Workforce Now or ADP RUN).
Click the Actions dropdown next to ADP.
Select Disconnect.
A green confirmation message will appear:
“Integration disconnected successfully.”
ADP will still appear under Connected Systems until you complete Step 2 below.
Step 2: Remove the App from ADP RUN
If you’re using ADP RUN, you’ll also need to remove the Workyard app from within ADP:
In ADP RUN, click the Marketplace icon.
Click My Apps on the far right.
Find the Workyard app and click the gear icon ⚙️ on the app card.
Select Update Subscription from the popup menu.
Click Cancel Subscription.
Once you cancel the subscription in ADP, ADP will clear the remaining connected data and remove the integration entirely.
Why ADP Works Differently
Unlike other integrations, ADP keeps multiple types of records — not only in the main connection but also in employee-level data tables.
Even after disconnecting from Workyard, those employee-level records can remain active until the ADP app subscription is canceled.
Canceling the subscription from ADP’s Marketplace removes those records automatically.
If ADP Still Appears Connected
If ADP still shows under Connected Systems after you’ve completed both steps:
Log out of Workyard and back in to refresh your session.
If it still appears, contact Workyard Support to verify that all related ADP records have cleared.
Avoid reconnecting until the original connection is fully removed.
Reconnecting ADP
Once the integration is fully disconnected:
Go back to Settings → Integrations in Workyard.
Click Connect under ADP.
Follow the on-screen prompts to reauthorize your ADP account.
Notes
Disconnecting or canceling your ADP subscription stops data syncing immediately but does not delete existing employee or time data in Workyard.
The steps above apply to both ADP RUN and ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
Only Admin users can manage or remove integrations.
