Step 1: Download & Log In to the Workyard App (on iPad)
On your iPad, download the Workyard app from the App Store.
Log in to your Workyard account.
From the Clock page, tap Kiosk mode in the top-right corner to begin setup.

Language preferences
Tip: Your setup PIN can be found anytime in the Web Application under
Settings → Company → Kiosk → Setting up Kiosks → Enter your PIN to start setup
Step 3: Connect a Time Clock Rule Group (on Kiosk / iPad)
Each kiosk must be linked to a Time Clock Rule Group. This rule group controls how employees clock in/out and how projects/cost codes are assigned while using that kiosk.
How to assign the Rule Group on the iPad kiosk
While you’re still in kiosk setup mode on the iPad:
On the Kiosk Settings screen, look for Kiosk Rule Groups.
You’ll see a list of your existing Time Clock Rule Groups.
Select the rule group you want this kiosk to follow.
Tap Save / Continue to confirm and finish setup.
Once selected, that kiosk will enforce the rules from that group for everyone who clocks in on it.
Where to manage or create Rule Groups (Web App)
If you need to create a new rule group or edit one first, go to:
Settings → Company →Time Clock Rules
From there you can:
Create new rule groups
Edit rules (time limits, breaks, etc.)
Assign team members to different rule groups
What the rule group controls
A rule group determines:
Clock-in / clock-out behavior
Project & cost code tracking method
Compliance
Break rules
Any other time clock settings you want tied to that kiosk
This is useful if different job sites or kiosks need different rules.
Step 4: Share PINs with Your Team (on Web Application)
Once setup is complete:
Go to Settings → Company → Kiosk → Setting up Kiosks → Share PINs.
Share the auto-generated PINs with your team members.
Workers can now clock in and out directly from the iPad kiosk.
Tip: Sharing from the web ensures PINs stay secure and can be managed centrally by admins.
You’re All Set!
Your kiosk is now ready for use. Team members can clock in based on the rules you’ve assigned, ensuring consistent and accurate time tracking across all job sites.
