Overview

Workyard has upgraded our QuickBooks Online (QBO) integration to support Intuit’s newest API. This update improves connection stability, security, and long-term reliability for your payroll and job cost syncing.

To continue syncing data between QuickBooks and Workyard, you’ll need to reconnect/reauthorize your QuickBooks Online account. This process is quick and typically takes less than 30 seconds.

Why You’re Seeing a Prompt to Reconnect

Intuit, the maker of QuickBooks Online, is rolling out an updated version of their API. As part of this update, all connected applications — including Workyard — must request fresh authorization from customers.

Nothing is changing in your existing setup or workflows, and your data remains safe. This is simply a routine update required by Intuit.

How to Reconnect Your QuickBooks Account

You can reconnect directly inside Workyard:

  1. Log in to Workyard.

  2. Navigate to Project Hub → + Projects → Import projects → Import (under QuickBooks Online Edition).

  3. You should be prompted to Reauthorize Workyard’s access to QuickBooks Online.

  4. Follow the QuickBooks login prompt and approve the connection.

  5. If given an option, be sure to choose the same Quickbooks Online company that was already connected.

Once complete, you will be redirected back to Workyard. You should then be able to resume importing and syncing your data.

What Happens if You Don’t Reconnect

Until the reconnection is completed, Workyard will be unable to import new data from QuickBooks Online. Your existing data is unaffected.
