Review time cards with our Time Assistant

How to review and clean up a full pay period of time cards by chat — what it does and how to use it.

Written by Alex

Our AI Time Assistant lets you review and clean up a full pay period of time cards by typing what you want in plain English, instead of opening and editing each card one at a time. You describe the change, it finds the matching time cards and suggests the edits, and you approve what's right. Nothing saves until you approve it.

Who can use it

The AI Time Assistant is available to admins on Enterprise accounts, on the web app. It isn't available on mobile or to manager roles yet.

How to open it

  1. Go to the Time Cards page.

  2. Open the Time Assist tab.

  3. Type a prompt in the chat to get started.

How it works, step by step

  1. Set the pay period you'd like to review. By default, it selects your current pay period. However, you can select past pay periods.

  2. You type a prompt. Describe the change in plain English — for example, "Round all start times to the nearest 5 minutes" or "Flag every time card with a break under 30 minutes."

  3. The assistant returns suggestions. It scans the time cards in your current pay period and shows you the matching cards and the changes it proposes.

  4. You review. Check the suggested changes against what you expected. You can accept or reject them.

  5. You approve. Approved changes are applied to the time cards. Until you approve, nothing changes.

Examples of what you can ask

  • "Round all start times to the nearest 5 minutes."

  • "Flag every time card with a break under 30 minutes."

  • "Show me any shift shorter than 30 minutes."

  • "Find time cards with no break on shifts over 6 hours."

  • Any many more, get creative!

The assistant works best when your prompt is specific about what to find and what to do with it.

Reviewing and approving changes

Every suggestion is yours to accept or reject. You can review the full batch on one screen rather than card by card. If you change your mind after applying, you can undo a batch back to its original state.

The audit log

Every change you approve is recorded in the audit log as "Admin approved AI suggestion," along with the plain-English reason for the change. The record shows that an admin reviewed and approved the edit — so your pay-period history stays clear and defensible.

Giving feedback

Your feedback shapes what comes next. If a suggestion was wrong, off, or exactly what you needed, submit your feedback here.
