Overview

This article is intended to provide a list of common errors that may occur when attempting to export time from Workyard to QuickBooks Desktop and how to resolve these.

Common errors are:

  1. Time tracking not set up for company

  2. Time tracking not set up for an employee(s)

Time tracking not set up for company

If time tracking is not set up for your company in QuickBooks, you will receive the error:

Unable to export time as time tracking has not been enabled in QuickBooks Desktop

In order to resolve this error, take the following action in QuickBooks Desktop:

Navigate to Edit --> Preferences... --> Time & Expenses and make sure that you have selected "Yes"

Time tracking not set up for employee(s)

If time data is not enabled for an employee, you will see this error message next to the employee:

"Use time data to create paychecks" is unchecked in Employee Payroll Info section

In order to resolve this error, navigate to the edit employee section --> Payroll Info and make sure that "use time data to create paychecks" is checked
