Pay Period Settings

Setting up your pay period details is required to enable time tracking for your team. This enables Workyard to calculate any overtime for your team automatically and allows you to export time to run payroll.

Pay Period Frequency

There are four main types of pay period frequencies supported:

Weekly: Runs on a 7 day pay period

Bi-Weekly: Runs on a 14 day pay period
Semi-Monthly: Runs on the 1st - 15th & 16th - end of every month
Monthly: Runs based on a calendar month period

Weekly & Bi-Weekly Pay Periods

If you select Weekly or Bi-Weekly, you'll be required to select the first day of your most recent pay period. For example, if your most recent weekly pay period was Sunday, Sept 1, 2024 - Saturday, Sept 7, 2024. Then, we would select Sunday, Sept 1, 2024, as the first day of the pay period.

Semi Monthly & Monthly Pay Periods

If you select Semi-Monthly or Monthly, you'll be asked to select:

  • First month / year of the pay period: This is the most recent month that you'd like to start your pay periods from in Workyard

  • Start day of work week: This is used to define when your work week begins to calculate overtime on a 7-day rolling period.
