How does it help?
Cost codes help you segment your labor costs to give you a more detailed view of your project breakdown.
How does it work?
Let’s say one of your employees is visiting a project you’ve already set up in Workyard and will spend the day on a task or multiple tasks. By creating a cost code, your employee can log their time by project and cost code which will give you visibility into your labor costs for each project.
You can set up as many cost codes as you'd like and apply them to all projects or only to specific projects.
Employees can select a cost code with a single tap on their phone and quickly switch to different cost codes throughout the day.
How to add cost codes?
Workyard allows you to easily add and assign cost codes to your projects through our website or mobile app. Here are the easy steps to add new cost codes to Workyard.
Go to the Projects screen. Either select + Project, if you want to add cost codes to a new project, or select Edit from the more options button for an existing project.
Click on the Cost Codes drop-down.
Tap + Cost Code if you would like to add a new cost code, or you can select a cost code from your existing cost code list.
If adding a new cost code, enter a Code (optional) and a Code Name. Then tap Save. Your cost code will now be saved to your cost code list for future use.
