How to enable all necessary GPS settings for the Workyard App work correctly?
Once you open the Workyard application you'll want to ensure the following GPS settings are enabled on your mobile device:
iPhone Settings should match the following:
Settings > Workyard Crew App (scroll to bottom) > Match the below settings:
Location: set to "Always"
Precise Location: On
Motion & Fitness: On
Live Activities: On
Background App Refresh: On
Cellular Data: On
How does location tracking work?
Workyard respects your privacy. Location tracking only runs while you are on a geo-fenced worksite or clocked in and stops once you clock out. While you're on a break we also do not display the locations that you visit during this time.
You may occasionally receive a notification from Apple or Android stating that our app is running in the background. This does not mean we are currently running location tracking, it is to confirm that you have given permission for our application to run while you are clocked in and you do not have the app open.
Can I use the app if I have no internet connection?
As long as you are logged in you will be able to create and submit time cards while you have no internet connection. Once you return to a place where your phone is connected to wifi or has a strong cell signal, our app will upload the time card to the system so it is viewable.
How much cellular data does the Workyard mobile app consume?
Our mobile app uses a minimal amount of cellular (internet) data to run. On average our app consumes only 2-3MB a month.
Will using your mobile app cause my mobile phone to run out of battery quickly?
Our mobile app uses minimal battery while running on your phone, on average we see our app may consume about 20% of your battery life. If you are spending a large amount of time driving this may increase.
Can I see the history of time cards I have created?
Within the mobile app, under the menu item Time Cards you will be able to see all the time cards you have created for the week selected. You will also see the total regular, over time and double time (if applicable) that you clocked in for the week selected. If you'd like to change the time period, you can simply tap on the date field in the right hand corner to change the time period you would like to view.
