How It Helps
Using this rule will auto trim a workers clock out time to the last known visited geofence. It helps ensure that workers are entering the correct finish time if they clock out after leaving a geofence.
How It Works
To switch on this rule:
Go to Settings > Organization
Then, go to Time Clock Rules
From Time Clock Rules, navigate to the group that you would like to apply the rule to
Within the group, scroll down the Geofences panel and switch on Automatically trim clock out time to the last geofence exited
Once this rule is switched on, when a team member clocks out the finish time on their time card will be auto populated to the exit time of the last detected geofence. The team member can change the clock out time if they have the permission to edit their time cards.
FAQs
What scenarios can cause the auto trim clock out rule to not be applied?
The auto trim rule does not get applied when the following scenarios occur:
There are no geofences detected while clocked in
The entire session has a no gps signal
The time card is auto clocked out due to being clocked in for over 24 hours
Does this rule auto clock out a team member when they step outside of geofence?
No it does not. This rule auto populates the clock out time when a user clocks out based on the exit time of the last known geofence.
Can a team member change the clock out time if this rule is applied?
Yes they can if they have editing time rule switched on. If you would also like to disable the editing of the finish time you can switch off the editing time card rule under Clock Permissions.
